| Coach Bill Davis` gridiron heroes finished the season at 2-9, but they played well against Fairfield Prep and Staples. The Crimson Eagles defeated arch-rival Roger Ludlowe an unprecendented two times in one season. |
| Senior members of the Eagles` football team included co-captains Steve Cameron and Glen Brown, linemen John Hey, Kevin Shay, and Mike McKernan, receivers Tom Skultety, Ted Plummer, Tom Fairfield, and Steve Trifone, and barefoot kicker Steve Lang. |

| The boys` basketball team finished the campaign at 5-15, but they posted impressive wins over Kolbe-Cathedral, Jonathan Law, and Norwalk. Basketball players are invited to share their memories in the Great Memories page of our reunion Web site. |

| Coach Ed Bengermino`s boys` basketball team was forced to field inexperienced players. The team`s outstanding senior, Tom Knuth, was awarded honorable mention status. |

| Andrew Warde`s most successful Fall sport was girls` volleyball. Under the excellent coaching of Ed Bengermino, the team finished at 14-1 and FCIAC runners-up. Their sole defeat came at the hands of FCIAC champion Westhill. |
| The girls` volleyball team was ranked third in the state. The girls won their first state playoff match and were led by senior Diane Dionis. |
| The boys` track team finished at 3-7, but senior Floyd Scholz and senior co-captain Pete Hellfach both broke school records. Floyd broke the high jump and triple jump records. Hellfach beat the old discus record by 10 feet. |

| Tom Knuth and Andy Larsen captured the state LL tennis championships. The tennis team finished at 8-5. Larsen earned his third state tennis championship his senior year, "an achievement that will be hard to match," according to the yearbook editor. |

| The cross-country team, under the guidance of Fred Klee, managed more victories than the previous year`s team, and they defeated more teams in the FCIAC championships than during the regular season. Stellar performances by senior co-captains Tim Schoenhorn and Ed Bintz, and fine running by Joe O`Brien and Ira Fried highlighted the "channeled" efforts. Though small in size, the 1976 Warde Cross Country team had great camaraderie and a special relationship with Coach Frederick Klee (who passed away in 2005). Some of our runners placed well at the FCIACs, on a cold day on a Stamford golf course. Tony Procaccini, not known for his distance running, placed 107 out of 108. Rest in peace, Coach Klee.
